May 1 Concert – Standing O!

Crossland at Skylight

Thank you to everyone who came out to our May 1 album preview concert!  The maiden voyage of the Mother Country project was sold out with standing room only, and ended with a beautiful standing ovation at the Skylight Theatre in LA!  We couldn’t have asked for a warmer reception.  Thank you!

Special thanks also to the Beverly Hills Playhouse for presenting the event, Mikael Stewart of ATK Audiotek for providing incredible sound, Liz Linder for coordinating photo and video, Chris Hoffman on lighting, Heather Wynters for managing the house, and Alisa Ardilla & Amanda Douglas for putting all the pieces together and coordinating volunteers!

In the coming weeks, we’ll be adding a gallery to this website, but in the meantime, here’s a shot of the band, featuring Bob Hawkins on guitar, Radoslav Lorkovic on keys, Dennis Kenmore on drums, and the one and only Dave Batti on bass.  A big shout out to Liz Linder for the great shots, and on behalf of myself and the band, thank you all for an inspiring night!

This sounds a wonderful project, Dave. I hope it flies. If it does I’ll be the first in line…

As a young Australian living ‘outback’ in the 1960s I heard John. His songs spoke to the land and the heart. I still have my vinyl copy of ‘The Cumberland Three’.

The ‘California Bloodlines’ album stands as one of the greatest bodies of work an American artist has ever produced.
